We have developed an advance teachers’ training for those who already teach yoga or who have already attended a basic teachers’ course (at least 200 hours). This concentrated course has been designed as a true retreat, for those who wish to increase their expertise in theory, practical and teaching skillsso as to bringtheir teaching up to a higher level.

The retreat not only has the advantage of concentrating much learning in a short time, but it carries the added value of an intense and complete experience that will allow you to assimilate both theoretical and practical notionsin-depth.

By attending this training course, you will become a “Yoga Teacher”.  Compared to an Instructor, the Yoga Teacher is able to convey true teachings through the practice and the philosophy studied during the second level, which by the end of the course you will now know how to implement.To convey teachings means being able to plant seeds that can actually change people’s lives.

The goal of this level

The main goal of the second training level is to give you the necessary tools to become a versatile and complete teacher: thanks to Integration you will be able to carry out diversified Yoga lessons, ranging from the dynamic and stimulating, to the more introspective and regenerating, to those with a greater technical content or a more inspirational one. Therefore, you will be able to reach out to many more people.

If you already have some experience in teaching Yoga you will probably already know that great feeling of being able to communicate wellbeing through this discipline that never ceases to thrill and amaze. When you see your students are calm, their minds clear and their bodies relaxed at the end of the lesson you feel that becoming a Yoga instructor was the right choice.

At the same time, you probably feel the curiosity or even the need to acquire new tools to continue investing in this career, able to give you much satisfaction, but also in ever-growing demand in a world always fighting against stress.

This course is designed to take your skills to the next level focusing the teaching on those fundamental elements that make a Teacher truly capable of communicating Yoga’s deepest teachings with warmth, professionalism and precision, to many more people.Indeed, when your skills grow, your experience consolidates and the quality of your teaching method also grows, exponentially,thus reaching out to the need for wellbeing and spiritual evolution of many more people.

It is no mean task to handle classes with many students who all need close attention.This sometimes distorts the traditional method of passing on Yoga teachings (individually from Teacher to Student), but it can be a source of great satisfaction if you feel you have guided all of your students properly, without jeopardising their joints and with their grasping all of the benefits of even more complex lessons.

Teaching is an art. The goal of Samadhi’s second training level is to show you how to teach advanced concepts with clarity and simplicity.

One step ahead:

This course’s strength is its integrated method. By using Anukalana’s (from Sanskrit: Integration) teaching method and tools you will be able to follow a training course that will enable you to practice Yoga while consciously applying all of its precious elements. These are:Bandha (control and containment manoeuvres), Mudra (body gestures that direct prana), Kriya (actions to move Prana), Svara (work on breathing to release its potential in a natural way) andDhara (Prana flow in movement).

Our previous students are giving us fabulous feedbacks on how this integration takes everything up to a higher level, making it possible to teach yoga to many different types of people in many different ways.

Training in this level proceeds in two ways:

  • Horizontally: many new subjects, more ancient literature, more categories of asana, meditation techniques and pranayama, etc.
  • Vertically: going more in-depth on previously studied subjects…. We shall see, for example, how some positions studied in the first level can be carried out to have deeper effects, how to adapt practice to different individuals, reviewing philosophical concepts in light of newly studied aspects, etc.

While the first level  isa very rich experience resulting from a training aimed at making you into an efficient instructor to get your students to start on their yoga, with concentrated contents culminating in a very intense event, the second level will be about… slowing down. You will have more time to assimilate concepts and study your practice in-depth. This may sometimes feel like the second level is less intense than the first but we have seen that at the end of this course, students really get a full picture of Yoga, and they go away feeling they have really entered into the vital aspects of this truly vast discipline.

This is indeed a great satisfaction for us! Just to hear our students say things like “now I really see how everything is connected…” 

Therefore, what we are really aiming for in our second level course is to give you the keys to connect everything together, going beyond apparent differences between different Indian schools of thought, to embrace a global vision of Yoga, its practice and its philosophy. The second level gives us the chance to do just that: examine the various elements one by one then put them all together in a special way that gives us a truly integral and integrated vision of Yoga.

The main approach used in this course is calledAnukalana,which in Sanskrit means Integration. It is an approach to Yoga that is both integrated and integral.This system brings together ancient concepts and methods and blends them with modern ones, allowing you to bring Yoga effectively to a wide range of people: average people, athletes, people looking to improve their health, older people, people seeking in Yoga a form of physical release, etc.

Most importantly,you will be able to lead people who wish to dig deeperfor knowledge of this wonderful discipline improving themselves and growing inside.

Anukalana is also an approach that allows you to adapt Yoga to each person, respecting their body build and mind-set, something that many modern styles do not contemplate, on the contrary forcing people to strain their skeletons or minds to something that is unsuitable for them. Yoga is for Man, and not the other way around.

Anukalana Yoga indeed is not a “new style” but rather Yoga’s natural tendency to meet Man’s needs, era after era, assimilating the older traditions with deep anatomic knowledge,rehabilitation techniques, the science of movement, and some of the most interesting notions from other techniques sharing the same goalsas Yoga (Taoism, Buddhism, Zen).

Integration is a natural occurring process in this era, which is happily leaving behind dogmas and “closing-offs” typical of many schools of thought.

One of the more interesting aspects of Anukalana Yoga is the great detail with which we study how breathing can be optimised, during both asanas and Pranayama, bringing the stimuli of Yoga to every corner of our bodies.The precision of this approach is the result of many years’ study, practice and especially, research.

Based on a well-balanced teaching program flowing betweentheory and practice, many moments of sharing and feedback, this course is a chance to experience Yoga very deeply, specifically because we will teach you to integrate various aspects of the more advanced techniques.

Anukalana Yoga is an approach based on smoothness and fluidity: the human body is made upof 80% fluids and our mind is in constantsearch for that peace and quiet that only “softness” can give us. Can you actually imagine a marriage between stiffness and peace?

What about meditation?

As to meditation, in the second level you will study Zazen (Zen meditation) and Xiao - Zhou - Tian (Taoist meditation, a wonderful work on energy preparing us for the application ofPranaDharato asanas).

  • Zazen will open the doors of your mind to awareness. Itwill be coupled with the study of the anatomy of the mind, a fabulous science that will help you to plan a veritable map of the path you will follow inside towards the deepest parts of your mind. 
  • Taoist meditation will show you how to feel, direct and cultivate vital energy so as to use it during your asanas. This is truly one of the main roads for taking your practice to a higher level.

In order to help prana flow during practice we will then study the techniques related to joint breathing (Pavana Sandhi) and the spinal wave (Meru Jalalata), typical of Anukalana, both releasing a huge potential in self-healing (Vis MedicatrixNaturae).

Taoism is very closely related to Tantra,its very roots are in fact entwined with those of Tantra! We must therefore recover this science, which integrates perfectly with Yoga taking it up a level. During this course, you will see how we can do this without making a haphazard mix, rather a sapient integration made with full awareness. Towards the end of the Second Level meditation is perfected through integration, and taken up to the next level by studying and practicing the more spiritual aspects of Yoga. 

Finally, by following this level you will prepare yourself to know and practice Samadhi. Honestly! We will practice Samadhi!Step by step, from the most basic to the one that, thanks to your practice you will be able to experience. Indeed Samadhi is a Yoga practice, and not just a state to beachieved by chance. It is therefore possible to learn how to access the lower levels of Samadhi while higher levels will come with time.Clearly, it is necessary to train our minds, and increase our concentration skills, as well as our willpower. The good news is, however, that all of these will develop naturally if you practice regularly. So, get ready by practicing with constancy!

To attain this goal we shall study:

  • The anatomy of the mind: we shall see how the mind is built according to Tantra and what its levels/organs are, so as to use this knowledge like a map to attain higher levels.
  • The physiology of the mind: you shall find out which are its fundamental functions and which its deeper ones, learning how to control them and use them to your benefit

In the end, your Meditation practice will be truly complete and you will be able to teach it well and in detail.

How shall we proceed with our work on Meditation?

We shall explore advanced Meditation techniques close to oriental traditions whilst studying the Anatomy of the Mind to understand how – just like our body – it can be brought under our control in order to access deep and elevated states of consciousness. This course therefore covers all the functions of the mind that you can use to train it in expanding, preparing it to experience Samadhi.

There will be a part dedicate to Samadhi: often consideredto be such an elevated level as to be rarely reached. On the contrary, we shall see how it is a veritable procedure and that the first levels are easily accessible to everyone, without the need to lock oneself up in a cave for years :-)

After all, isn’t our School called Samadhi? We do not wish to give up on Yoga’s best part: our challenge during this retreat is to make you understand the essence of this often-mystified practice to its core.

You will be able to start experiencing your first Samadhis starting from the more basic ones, accessible to anyone with a realistic view of Yoga and a constant practice. The science of Tantra tells us in fact, that there are seven levels of Samadhi and that it is possible to begin perceiving the first few levels through a constant and well-honed meditation practice. In these states, the mind is completely still, the body “turned off”, the heart at peace and conscience expanded. It’s all about learning how to enter this state in a methodical and regular manner.

What will we cover regarding Asana and Pranayama?

During Level 2we shall look together at new categories of asanas.This will require a close study of some Anukalana concepts to be able to teach them properly. Inversions (on the head and on the hands), torsions, positions balancing on the hands, complex and intense stretching requiring the simultaneous opening-up of several body areas, etc., these will be the material with which we shall learn how to integrate all of the principles allowing us to practice correctly and to teach said positions safely.

After an overview of the theory (anatomy and physiology) we shall practice the asanas, so as to feel clearly how they act on organs and apparatus(we looked at the effects on the bone and muscle structures during the first level).Finally, we will integrate the various practices to feel their effects on the systems (nervous, endocrine, and immune)

Advanced asanasare therefore explored in detailand the work performed on the different body areas is put into relation with the effects encountered on the systems, the apparatus and the mind.This will become a starting point to begin using Yoga as a potent tool to re-establish balance in body and mind, and as a personal evolution.

Essentially, we will explore the theoretical and practical elements that can make Yoga be a source of health at a very high level. This will be the grounds for anyone wishing to specialise in Yoga Therapy.

Assuming that we have assimilated the knowledge of the bone and muscle structures regarding Yoga, we will be able to focus on the more subtle body structures learning to use Mudra, Bhanda, andKriya in an advanced way in both asanas and pranayama.

So will we also talk about Yoga-Therapy (Yoga Naturopathy)?

Originally Level II was supposed to be dedicated to this subject, but we realised it was impossible to study yoga therapy and the other fundamental subjects, because of the time constraint.Therefore we have opted for a taste of how to use our newly acquired knowledge to help people find their balance again (posture, digestion, etc.), giving our fullest attention to all of the different position categories, pranayama and so on.Anyone wishing to study the other aspects in greater depth may attend our course in Yoga Naturopathy later on.

In order to study this aspect of Yoga properly we need to study pathology, physiology, posturology, and so on, in much detail. Yoga can have healing effects on our body on many levels, from posture to digestion, from circulation to humour… it is a vast subject and one that deserves its own focused space.

What will I be at the end of this two-year course? What will I be able to teach?

Well, you will become a high-level Yoga teacher! Indeed, if you follow this course properly you will then have literature and many starting points for an in-depth study of Yoga for many years to come, perhaps even for life! ;-)

At the end of this experience,you will be able to lead various types of lessons:Hata Yoga, Integral Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga... Flow Yoga (due to all that great work on fluidity) and of course superAnukalana® Yoga classes that will be in increasing demand, since it really makes people who practice it feel better.

We will work a lot especially regardingvinyasa, so you will discover all aspects of dynamic Yoga. You will be able to teach this style too, adapting it to the required level and intensity.

So it will be up to you what to teach, according to your personality that makes you a unique teacher.

You will be able to handle high-quality lessons! You will have learned many things and so you will be able to teach even private and one-to-one lessons.

You will be able to suggest positions to solve the more common problems like constipation, chronic tiredness, basic postural correction, and so on.

Here is an overview of the main points covered in Level II:

  • We will explore the principles of movement: starting from the concept of "fascia" we will learn to understand transitions and Vinyasa in-depth
  • You will learn advanced charts to create well-balanced and effective sequences
  • You will learn how to bring the effect of breathing into the farthest corners of the body in order to open and release them
  • We will see how it is possible to cultivate and actively drive Vital Energy  not only in Pranayama but also during the practice ofasanas
  • We shall increase our knowledge of the subtle anatomy by deepening our knowledge of Chakras and Nadi to practice with increased awareness.
  • You will learn to self-feedback at the end of your lessons so as to improve your teaching skills constantly
  • We shall make a veritable inner voyage exploring the more advanced meditation techniques step by step
  • We will see how to use variants of the asanas to create sequences that are ok for your students
  • We shall set the basis for later studies in Yoga Therapy
  • You will learn to make postural observations  accurately and to develop corrective sequences
  • We shall study further aspects of assisting and correcting
  • We shall see what are the basic principles in using Props (bricks, straps, cushions, chairs, etc.) creatively
  • We shall make an in-depth study of the main Bandha and Mudra (Uddayana, Mula, Jalandhara, Aswiniand Vajiroli) learning to use them in our practice.

The philosophy we’ll cover:

We do not wish to over-stretch ourselves but this course wouldn’t be complete without a series of furtherstudies on the philosophy of Yoga, adding to the materialcovered in Level I.

yaudha-yoga-guerrieroMore specifically, we shall delve into those concepts that are essential to the understanding of traditional Yoga teachings properly as well as everything that we need to know to meditate with profit: from the Anatomy of our Mind to the cosmology of Tantra for a good understanding of the Micro and Macro cosmos, to benefit our practice. We shall finally venture into the heart of the Bhagavad Giita, the best-loved yoga text for all traditions because of the depth of its contents and teachings.

The Bhagavad Giitaopens up a world of content on the teachings that Krsna gave toArjunaon the battlefield. To capture its spirit we shall explore one of the more fascinating aspects of Anukalana: Yaudha Yoga.Watch the video to see what it’s about: we shall spend a day in fun martial art games to awaken our inner warrior.

We do not believe in philosophy for its own sake, rather as a map to reach Samadhi.If a concept cannot be put into practice, we do not include it in the course, preferring to make room for everything that is truly helpful to our personal growth.

During the course we use our own experience in the fields of personal growth and western psychology to help explain the concepts of eastern philosophy through group work, sharing and fun provocations that we apply through games.One of the corner stones of our approach to Yoga philosophy is:

The Apprenticeships in this training level (taking placeduring the second part of the course) consist precisely in putting into practice what we will have learnt on leading groups and managing seminars.

Like in all of the Samadhi courses, thefocus is always on personal growth and the creation of a good group energy through our experiential workshops, which help people to develop deeply yet in a fun way.Through these deep-working moments, you will be able to actively experience the most important traditional teachings, and you will be able to pass this on in your courses and seminars.

While during the first level we worked on awareness and communication, this level will give you the tools to overcome shyness, speak in public and access your deepest personal resources through Yoga. In short... not many frills and lots of Yoga, to grow inside and convey much outside.

What is the day-to-day program like?

Days are divided into theory and practice, philosophy and practical aspects of guided teaching.Here is the daily timetable:

The course last 25 days so it is based on the retreat and full immersion experience concept. The program is naturally very demanding, but the atmosphere is relaxed giving due space to recreational activities. You will find the experience of the retreatto be very intense and you will have the chance of a true yogiclifestyle experience thanks to the Ashram. The natural surroundings and the green spaces we have at our disposal for this retreat make this experience a true beak from the world ;-)

What else shall we do?

fotoshootings-formazione-yogaAmong our evening activities there will also be fun-filled moments like our Photo or Video Shoot sessions: we shall create a photo-set and have fun taking pictures of asanas or filming sequences to improve our skills in observing detail, alignment, fluid movement, and so on. So not only will you improve in your indications skills, but you will also have some great pics for your teaching activity :-)

Other evenings will be dedicated to Bhajans (songs) under the moonlight and yet others to night-time meditation (in the woods)

The full-immersion course is indeed demanding therefore, like in all of our courses, we try to set our teaching and daily routine to make it allas fun as possible and never dull. Everybody knows we learn twice as much when we are happy and relaxed. Therefore, we have some downtime and all lessons are run in a relaxed atmosphere.

This retreat takes place in Tuscany, in a splendid Ashram. It is thanks to the possibility of studying in a retreat, that you will be able to experience Yogic life.

Is this a recognised course?

 Admission requirements

This course is open to Yoga Teachers with a first level of training or to those who have a long-time teaching experience and with to improve and deepen their practice of Yoga to attain a higher level of teaching skills.

More specifically, this course gives you the chance to attain the RYT500 level (international teaching standard)by adding 300 hours of training to those whohave  already completed the first 200.

It is not necessary, therefore, to have studied at Samadhi asd in order to access this training. You can take part to our course then ask for the RYT500 if you already have attained the RYT200 level previously.


So what if I don’t like it?

Therefore, we always give the chance to withdraw, with a full refund of the course fee, to anyone deciding within the first three days (within Sunday night) that they are not at ease with the type of teaching, the Ashram environment or the teachers.
